Nikon has promised another new DSLR sometime in 2012, joining the freshly revealed D800 and D4, and while the company won’t say exactly what is in the pipeline, its says its focus is improving the quality of existing models rather than adding new types of camera. The D800 and D700 will remain on sale alongside each other, general manager for marketing Nobuaki Sasagaki told Amateur Photographer, though a new Nikon is expected to make its debut later in the year.

Nikon D800 TV Advert

Did you know, the Nikon D800 promo video was shot in Chicago? The production is now complete, which is another indication for an upcoming release. The usual turnaround for commercial videos is quite quick. This Nikon D800 commercial involved motorcycles (motorcycle mount footage). Ten different D800 cameras were used. There was a lot of high speed action and they had to shut down half the city centre.

The London Street Photography Festival defines Street Photography as:
“candid, photography which captures, explores or questions contemporary society and the relationships between individuals and their surroundings.”
Street photography is perhaps more easily defined as a method than a genre. The results can fit into documentary, portraiture and other genres, but the key elements of spontaneity, careful observation and an open mind ready to capture whatever appears in the viewfinder are essential.
