Q. Can a Digidude tripod be used with a Nikon D3100 camera?
A. Tiny little pocket tripods usually don't work well with DSLR's. If it doesn't fall over, there is a good chance it will sag under the weight of any imbalance. The most minimal light weight tripod I could recommend for a DSLR is the Giottos Rt-8150. It won't fit in the pocket except for maybe a trenchcoat or some parkas. It can fit in the pocket of my Cabela's Northslope Parka with the head down and buttoning the pocket flap with two legs on one side and one leg on the other side of the button to keep it from falling out. It can fit in any small daypack or in many bicycle rack packs. It can support my D90 with 16-85mm lens without sagging. For general use my bigger tripods are better, but this is adequate when it's in the parka I'm carrying and the better tripod is in my checked baggage.
